Above is a video about the IAM’s Veterans Services Program, which brings together IAM veterans from across the United States and Canada.

Brothers and Sisters,

The Machinists Union has a special bond with our armed forces and the brave men and women who serve and have served. Every day, our membership proudly supports our military’s mission.

We work alongside service men and women at military bases across the country. We build and maintain the state-of-the-art equipment our military counts on in dangerous areas of the world. Our union has a long tradition of being there for those who put their lives on the line for all of us.

Many of our members are veterans themselves. They don’t often speak about their service because they did not enlist for recognition or accolades. Today, and every day, we honor their bravery and recommit our union to serving every veteran and their families.

Happy Veterans Day, Machinists.

In Solidarity,

Bob Martinez
International President

Friday, April 8th, 2016 was the retirement ceremony for Brother Johnny Grassity and Sister Carmen Rivas of the CMTI/NRDI Custodial Contract at NASA- Houston, Texas. The entire custodial staff enjoyed a buffet prepared by the associate members of the group (very tasty, by the way). Pictured here with Secretary Treasurer Local 1786/District Trustee/ Communicator David Hughes and Directing Business Agent/ District President Byron Williams.  Both retiring members have been enrolled in the IAM since its inception with the Custodial group in the Union back in 2002.  The Custodial Staff at the Johnson Space Center is a very hard working group, taking care of the Space Center, Sonny Carter Training Facility, and Ellington Field.  Our hats go off to this group and a special ‘Hail and Farewell’ to Brother Grassity and Sister Rivas for a job well done and a special heart felt

‘Enjoy Retirement’, Good Work!
