The aims and purposes of this District is to
bring all working people in the District’s geographical
jurisdiction under one central governing authority in order to
create unity of purpose, uniform scale of wages, conditions of
employment and otherwise improve the standard of living of
employees who are engaged in or connected with the IAM’s
jurisdiction; the only exclusion from the above jurisdiction is
those persons employed by Railroad and Airline Industries.
IAM & AW South Texas District Lodge 37 has served Machinists,
Industrial and Aerospace working families in the Houston area since
1926. The jurisdiction of this Lodge consists of the Counties of
Jackson, Matagorda, Colorado, Austin, Fort Bend, Brazoria,
Galveston, Harris, Montgomery, Walker, Waller, Grimes, Brazos,
Washington, Wharton and San Jacinto.
